Good morning! My name is Robert Haynes Smith. My Great Great Grandfather was 1st Lt. Sylvester Martin who was a Union Officer at the Battle of Port Hudson, LA, in 1863. He was a member of the 15th Regiment New Hampshire Volunteers, Co. F. I have some family history notes indicating that he was born in Grafton in 1837 and I have conflicting information telling me that he died in either 1879 or 1916. He had a daughter (my ancestor) Gertrude Martin Crockett. Can you share with me any resources or assistance to find out more about Lt. Martin? I also have his uniform shoulder boards that might be of interest to your group. Thank you, in adance, for any help on this. Happy Holidays. Bob
